Riz brings over 30 years of landscape architecture experience grounded in the Bay Area. A San Francisco raised, his early work with local nonprofits nurtured a lasting commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement -- which continues to this day.

Since earning his B.S. in Landscape Architecture from UC Davis in 1995, Riz has led and collaborated on a wide range of public and private projects -- from civic spaces to large-scale infrastructure -- working closely with architects, engineers, agencies, and communities. He founded RGD in 2010 to focus on creating resilient, functional and design-forward landscapes.

Riz continues to stay involved locally and draws inspiration from time spent outdoors exploring California’s wild and urban places.
